The Greenhouse Kitchen
They do an absolutely delicious brunch. Our firm favourites are their shakshuka eggs and breakfast brioche stack. It’s just under 20mins drive and there are nice walks close by - Glansevern, Dolforwyn Castle, Montgomery Castle, Montgomery War Memorial and the canal at Berriew.
-
The Cross Keys
A stunning pub with delicious food. The menu is a ‘little extra’ by local standards. It’s a beautiful spot with a great beer garden. Definitely worth a visit! It’s a 25min drive but there are some great walks nearby at Nesscliffe and Llanymynech

Checkers, Montgomery
Adding a little luxury to the local dining scene, the 3 course lunch menu is £35 and there is a tasting menu in the evening for £65 (please book ahead). It’s in the Michelin guide and already being reviewed in the national press (despite only being taken over by the couple a year or so ago).
-
Stable Inn
Just over the border into the Shropshire Hills, it has a beer garden with a serious view! Delicious homemade pies and burgers are a great reward after climbing the local hills! Roughly 30 minutes away with excellent walks starting and finishing at the pub.
-
Stone House Brewery
A brilliant beer garden set in an orchard. Delicious beers brewed on site and great Australian Grill for food. (Our favourites are the Hot Smoked Salmon Salad and the Greek Pizza)

Naissance Cafe
Best on a sunny day, as there’s a beautiful sun trap courtyard to enjoy your lunch or cake. The Buddha Bowl and Cardamon Flapjack are out of this world, however, we’ve never had anything we didn’t like there. The grounds are definitely worth a wander round.
